Large-scale Russian Strikes Cut Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water systems, as stated by city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in supplying defensive weapons and applying penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets targeted the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city came under heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The assaults come after nights of air raids in the region, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

He said energy workers and authorities were preparing for more assaults.
